World Refugee Day
No one chooses to be a refugee. You can choose to help.
We invite you to help refugees build a new home and a life free from persecution. This June, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a refugee.
International Counseling and Community Services (ICCS) and Multicultural Community Services (MCS), programs of Lutheran Community Services Northwest, offer resettlement support and healing to refugees who have been victims of torture and/or persecution from war. Most arrive to this country with one suitcase and the hope of building a new life in America. The typical family of 4 at our clinic lives on less than $10,000 a year and for that reason, many basic needs go unmet. This includes basic hygiene items like laundry soap, shampoo, towels, socks, coats and blankets, and life-saving pharmaceuticals.
We are asking for your help! Please consider helping us contact others who share a commitment to providing sanctuary to the world’s most vulnerable people, and asking them to make that adjustment to America just a little bit easier. Any amount they give goes directly and completely to support client needs.
